Official · MP · Sint Maarten

Viren V. Kotai is a second-term Member of Parliament for the Democratic Party of Sint Maarten. He was sworn in twice in 2024, the year the island held two elections — first on 21 May by Governor Ajamu G. Baly, to the DP seat vacated when Grisha Heyliger-Marten joined the Council of Ministers, and again after the August snap election, when the DP grew from two seats to three.

He ran as candidate #5 on the DP list in 2024, having first stood for office in 2020 with the St. Maarten Christian Party (SMCP). The DP sits in the governing coalition; he is one of three DP faction members alongside Dimar C. Labega and party leader Sarah A. Wescot-Williams — he is not the party leader.
